Oh so close for Colville

The Colville contingent was understandably disappointed in the final outcome. The Indians have battled DP all season long, winning the NEA regular season dual championship over Deer Park and capturing the District title before the Stags turned that around, winning the regional tournament last week over CHS and holding off the mostly young Indians one more time on the mats at the Tacoma Dome Saturday.
“Hats off to Deer Park,” said Colville head coach Randy Cloke. “They did great work in the consolation bracket…10 pins in the back door sealed it for them.
“But we’ll be back. We had three state champions. That certainly isn’t a bad evening.
“It is tough to get that close and not seal the deal. We took 10 and placed eight…not bad. We lost the championship in the consolation bracket—10 pins are equal to 20 bonus points. When you lose by four pin points, that made the difference.”
