Kettle Falls wins District title

Kettle Falls High (20-4) and in the throes of a modern-day school record 18-game winning streak, won the District 7 2B softball championship last Tuesday at Dwight Merkel Complex in Spokane.
On Saturday, in a rain-delayed 2B regional tournament, the Lady Bulldogs qualified for the State 2B Tournament May 27-28 in Yakima by blasting Springdale 18-7.
That win punched the Lady Bulldogs’ ticket to State, where KFHS will likely be listed on the “tournament dark-horse and dangerous” list.
Because games were washed out last Saturday after the first round of the regional tournament at Franklin Park in Spokane, the tourney will resume on Tuesday back at Merkel. Seven games remain to be played.
