Kettle Falls in Cheney

Kettle Falls High School had a big day in Cheney at the state track championships. In 2B competition Kettle Falls sent a large group of boys to compete and scored very well, compiling a total of 38 points bringing home a fifth place team finish.
Leading the charge was McKay Knowlton and Casey Hamilton, Knowlton brought home a state title in the triple jump with a distance of 43’5.75”, and 11th in the long jump, leaping 19’4.25”. On the track, Knowlton finished fourth in the 100m dash with a time of 11.54, and eighth in the 200m with a time of 23.44.
Casey Hamilton set a state record and brought home another state title for KFHS in the high jump with a height of 6’5”, he also finished in sixth place in the triple jump with a distance of 41’8.5”.
Hamilton ran the anchor leg in the 4x100m relay the team along with Hunter McDaneld, Trevor James, and Kyle Keenan, this team took sixth place with a time of 46.13. Trevor James was fourth in the triple jump at 42’3.75”, Charlie Andrews finished eighth in the high jump with a jump of 6’2”, and Hunter McDaneld was 11th in the long jump at 18’7.75”. Zara Johnson, representing the KFHS girls, finished eighth in the 800m with a time of 2:41.41.
Representing Mary Walker high school Payden Cates finished fourth in the discus with a distance of 144’8” and 11th in the shot put with a throw of 42’11.75”. Garret Willey ran a 2:04.42 to finish fifth in the 800m, while Tyler Turnbough finished seventh in the 1600m with a time of 4:38.22.
