Despite going 1-1 during the final week of Northeast A League boy’s soccer action, Colville High (9-2-1, 8-2) still had enough of a cushion at the top of the standings to hold off second place Newport (7-3, 10-5) and win the regular season championship.
The Indians will host fourth place Lakeside (5-5, 6-8) in a District 7 1A loser-out match-up on Tuesday. The match on the Colville pitch starts at 4 p.m.
Lakeside eliminated Riverside (4-6, 6-9) last Saturday in a District first round match.
The survivor will advance to the Northeast A District championship Thursday, May 12 at Central Valley High School (Spokane). That match will get underway at 7 p.m.
In the other District semifinal on Tuesday, Medical Lake will oppose Newport.
The top two teams advance to regional play.
