Colville didn’t get any scheduling favors last week, facing the league’s top two clubs—Lakeside and Deer Park—in consecutive Northeast A League games.
The Indians simply didn’t play well, particularly early, in a 10-3 loss at Nine Mile Falls to Lakeside last Tuesday.
But Colville rebounded on Friday back home at Vaagen Park, sweeping the Stags 5-0, 11-7 to remain tied with Lakeside atop the NEA softball standings.
THIS WEEK
As rigorous as last week’s schedule was for CHS, this week’s looks to head 360 degrees in the opposite direction. The Indians visit second division Freeman on Tuesday (4 p.m.) and step outside league play on Thursday with a game at Priest River (4 p.m.).
On Saturday, Colville visits cellar-dwelling Newport for a NEA doubleheader that starts at 11 a.m.
