Fire danger rating increases

The Washington Department of Natural Resources said last week that several changes in the fire danger rating and burn restrictions on DNR-protected lands have gone into effect.
Effective July 27, all campfires in Leader Lake Campground in Okanogan County are prohibited.

Fire danger has increased from moderate to high in Okanogan and Spokane counties. Fire danger remains high for northern Lincoln County and in Fire Districts 1 and 2 in Stevens County. Fire danger remains moderate in Ferry and Pend Oreille counties and outside Fire Districts 1 and 2 in Stevens County.

A current eastern Washington burn ban on DNR-protected lands is expected to continue through September.
