Colville High senior Darby Fox won her second straight 1B/2B/1A regional singles tennis championship and a trip to the State tournament today and Saturday at the Yakima Tennis Center.
Fox, the two-time Northeast A League Most Valuable Player, will open State play today against Penelope Owen of Seattle Academy.
Fox was the only CHS player to qualify for the regional tournament at Mead High School.
In her regional opener, Fox squared off against Kettle Falls’ foreign exchange student (Belgium) Stephanie Forthomme.
CHS head coach Phil Johnson was impressed with Forthomme’s game. She led the Lady Bulldogs this spring in their first-ever season of high school tennis.
