Colville National Forest plans open for public review

The Colville National Forest has been working on a multi-year planning effort to update and revise its Land and Resource Management Plan, which are ready for public review and comment. The public comment period lasts for 90 days, from Feb. 19 to May 19. Public comments received may be used to modify alternatives, develop new alternatives for consideration, improve analysis of effects, or to make factual corrections, according to the USDA Forest Service.

The Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) and Draft Revised Forest Plan can be reviewed at the USDA website, or in person at the Forest Service offices in Colville, Kettle Falls, Republic, Metaline Falls and Newport.

Comments can be made electronically at or by mailing a letter to the Colville National Forest Plan Revision Team at 765 South Main St. in Colville.
