CHS loses against rival Chewelah

Last week Colville High School volleyball faced off against Jenkins High School inside the CHS gym.
The first set was a close game (25-23), with victory going to Colville. Colville won the second set (25-19). Senior middle blocker Cortney Schuh fell on her knee, taking her out of the game. Without her, scores reversed and Colville lost the next three sets (18-25) (14-25) (15-17), ultimately losing the match (2-3).
Leading in kills for Colville was senior Kaitlyn Petrey at 42. Petrey also lead in serving aces (21) and digs (nine).
Leading in blocks for CHS at 11 was Brooke Stutzer, sophomore middle blocker. Senior setter Kora Pitts lead Colville in assists at 93. Jaden Power, a junior, had three receptions.
Colville heads into this week overall 7-4, 4-2 in district. They play a road game against Riverside on Oct. 3 and a home game against Newport High School on Oct. 5. Game time for both is 6:30 p.m.
Chewelah plays an away game against Deer Park on Oct. 5, game time is 6:30 p.m.
