The Jenkins High volleyball team had its three game winning streak snapped when they dropped a pair of Northeast A League matches last week.
Chewelah absorbed a three- set loss to visiting Colville and a five-set loss to Newport.
The Cougars continue to improve and have looked much more sure of themselves on the court.
“We’re still working on limiting our unforced errors,” said head coach Shirley Baker. “Net calls, serving errors are much better now than what they were at the start of the season.”
Bailey Smith has been spearheading the charge for JHS the last few games, leading the Cougars in kills in three of the last four matches.
THIS WEEK
This week the Cougars (3-6, 2-6) will travel to Freeman (7-1, 7-1) on Tuesday and will host Deer Park (6-2, 6-2) on Thursday. Both matches begin at 6:30 p.m.
Freeman is second behind Lakeside in the NEA standings. Deer Park is third.
