Amateur Radio Field Day

Members of the Panoramaland Amateur Radio Club (PARC) will be participating in the national Amateur Radio Field Day exercise this weekend, June 24-25 at 2027 Black Lake Road, Colville.

Since 1933, ham radio operators across North America have established temporary ham radio stations in public locations during Field Day to showcase the science and skill of Amateur Radio. This event is open to the public and all are encouraged to attend.

PARC has served the Stevens County area for over 50 years, with over 30 enthusiastic members involved in all aspects of amateur radio. The club makes a special effort to participate in providing communications and support for public service events. Each Field Day not only provides the opportunity for the group to practice their emergency response capabilities, it also serves as a weekend long campout/picnic social gathering where hams and friends come together to have fun.

Anyone can become a licensed Amateur Radio operator. For more information, visit www.arrl.org/what-is-ham-radio.
