Robot-A-Thon August 18

The Kettle Falls High School FIRST Robotics team, The Canine Crusaders, will hold a “Robot-A-Thon” to raise funds for their upcoming season. The team will have 24 hours to build a fully functioning robot. As an added twist they will not know ahead of time what kind of robot they will be building; it will be revealed by the mentors on the morning of the build.

The Robot-A-Thon is the first fundraiser for their fifth year in this competitive program. The self-funded team needs to raise at least $20,000 each year for entrance fees, supplies, travel expenses to competitions, etc. Their primary fundraiser is the annual dinner auction at the Ag-Trade building on November 10. Donations will be cheerfully accepted. The team is a 501(c)(3) registered non-profit.

Come watch them in the Hachisoft/TJ’s parking lot at 325 E 3rd Ave (Highway 395) in Kettle Falls August 18 at 10 a.m. through August 19 at 10 a.m. Ask questions, bring the family, get information about robotics and STEM programs, and help support the team, too.
