Improving quality of life one piece of trash at a time

The Northport Lions Club held its semi-annual Roadside Cleanup, along State Highway 25, north of the Town limits on Oct. 12. As the Thursday evening temperature dropped and a light rain slowly crept in, eight Northport Lions Club members rolled up their sleeves and picked up trash on the highway roadside from the Columbia River Bridge to Mitchell Road. The collected trash was later hauled away by a representative of the Washington State Department of Transportation.

Club members gather in April and October each year to pick up the trash littering the roadways leading in and out of the Town.
