Clayton K. Burch, (Clay) a 27-year resident of Inchelium, passed away on Nov. 22, 2012 at his Inchelium home. He was born on Feb. 14, 1946 in Tacoma, the son of Wilfred John and Sarah Ada (Walker) Burch.
Clayton was raised and attended school in the Eatonville and Puyallup areas. Following high school, Clayton began work in the timber industry as a logger. A short time later, he started work in residential construction in Everett. W
Clayton worked construction for several years and then relo¬cated to Coulee City. While in Coulee City, he met Anita Louise Jones and they were wed on May 1, 1979 in Coeur d’Alene, ID. Clayton and Anita made their home in Coulee City, where Clayton worked with his brother, Larry. In 1985, he and Anita moved their family to Inchelium. He returned to the woods and soon found his niche in driving log trucks. He drove for nearly 25 years, most of that time for Seastrom Logging.
In December 2011, Clayton was diagnosed with lung cancer and began a courageous battle for his life. His increasing health needs required that he retire and focus on his own well¬ness. He passed away at home, surrounded by the love of his family.
Clayton was a professional musician and played guitar. He sang for his own enjoyment and that of his family and friends. Clay enjoyed spending time outdoors and riding his motorcycle. He loved family gatherings by the campfire and landscape pho¬tography. Some of the most beautiful images were captured from the cab of his log truck. Clayton also enjoyed horseback riding and taking his dogs for their daily runs with his four- wheeler.
Clayton is remembered for his easy-going and accepting na¬¨ture. He never missed an opportunity to express his love with hugs, handshakes and a heartfelt, ‚Äúlove ya.‚ÄĚ This softer side and tender heart were the attributes his family loved and will cherish, while remembering the goodness and wonderful memo¬¨ries he created with them.
