CHS volleyball takes 3-0 victory at home

Colville High School volleyball faced Newport last Thursday, dominating the court in a 3-0 victory over the Grizzlies.
In the first set Colville scored (25-14). The second set was a closer match, with Newport closing the gap to a (25-22) loss. The final set of the night was a total Colville victory at (25-9).
Senior Cortney Schuh was Colville’s main attack force with a total of 12 kills, averaging four a set. Following closely behind Schuh was senior Kaitlyn Petrey, with eight kills, and sophomore Brooke Stutzer.
Hallie Cox, Schuh, Katelynn Lewis and Petrey each had a serving ace to their name.
Schuh, Molly Schauls and Stutzer each had a solo block. Leading Colville in digs was senior Rylee Merritt, with seven.
Setter Kira Pitts had 32 assists, Schauls had one.
Colville is now (7-2) in district.
On Monday Colville’s varsity volleyball team challenged Freeman High School at a home conference game.
THIS WEEK
On Tuesday CHS plays Medical Lake at home and have an away game to Freeman High School on Thursday. Game time is 6:30 p.m.
