4-Hers to Hippology contest

Stevens County 4-H’ers Andrew Minaker, Morgan Hopkins and Sadie Beardall recently competed at the Eastern National 4-H Horse Roundup in Kentucky in the National Hippology Contest.

Hippology is a horse knowledge competition consisting of four phases: Horse judging, written examination and slide identification, ID stations, and team problem solving. Items in the four phases may cover any equine subject.

The team placed sixth in the problem-solving phase of the contest at nationals. Individually, each placed in the top 50. This group earned the honor of representing Washington by placing first in the state contest.
