Colville High football faithful who watched their Indians struggle to a 28-0 win at Chewelah last Friday night hope that a sloppy first half performance was merely an aberration.
After all, Colville (3-0, 4-1) will need to play efficiently and well to beat Freeman (3-0, 4-1) on Friday night in Rockford. Game time at FHS is 7 p.m.
The cider press was in full swing Saturday at the Marcus Ciderfest.

The annual celebration will be Saturday, Oct. 3 from 8 a.m. to 1 a.m. the following morning. A pancake breakfast kicks the day off at 8 a.m., followed by the parade at 10:30 a.m.
There will be food and craft vendors, live music, beer garden, and a kidsâ€™ carnival throughout the townâ€™s nine-acre park adjacent to Highway 25. The star attraction, of course, is the Ciderclops, a massive cider press built by the late Dennis Jensen. The giant press scoops, crushes and transports hundreds of pounds of apples for cider each year.

Colville High will host the annual Can-Am Invitational Cross-Country meet on the shores of Lake Roosevelt Saturday. Start time is 10:00 a.m.
At press time, 24 teams were registered to run in the high school varsity, junior varsity and junior high cross-country meet at Old Kettle Recreation Area/Day Use Area down the road from the Kettle Falls Marina.

ADDYâ€”A Chewelah man died on Sept. 28 after being shot with a bow and arrow.
According to the Stevens County Sheriffâ€™s Office, deputies responded to a report of a person shot with an arrow at a residence in the 1300 block of Highway 395 South in Addy.
Deputies arrived on scene the afternoon of Sept. 28 within minutes to find 46-year-old Brian Brodie of Chewelah bleeding heavily from an apparent wound from an arrow, according to Sgt. Brad Manke of the Stevens County Sheriffâ€™s Office.
